During one of our late night wine and whatever food we could find in the appartment sessions in Livigno,a motion was thrown out to the assembled members,why don`t we have a plegging party when we get back home?.there was, of course, some rules attached to the said event,which was to take place at our house while the weather was still cold.as Declan pointed out "we would look kinda stupid in full ski gear in June having a party" but as i pointed out "we looked stupid in Janurary in full ski gear in Livigno so what the hell!".So with a nodding head and eyes falling out of their sockets i sleepely said the words "lets have it in our house now go to bed please".rules were as below and badly wanted sleep followed!
1:all must wear full ski gear,
2:all attentending must bring a bottle of Italian wine,
3:traditional Italian fare would be served,
4:the event would start at 6:30pm Friday 15th Feb sharp.
As you can see the dress code was followed to the tee,even my mother borrowed ski gear mind you it was from the fifties,but ski stuff nevertheless.A mulled wine reception greeted everyone while we stood around an open fire on the deck watching a slide show of pictures of our adventures and listening to some classic Dean Martin in the background.Even my sick wife and children made outside to be part of the action.
Liz and myself prepared some nibley`s of sun dried tomatoes,green and black olives,parma ham,feta cheese,green chilli and ginger and of course some Presseco to cleanse the palate.after which came a cheese and wine tasting like we had in Livigno.
After the cheese and wine we all moved inside and derobed (from our ski gear only of course its not a swingers party!) and watched the video`s of our hol`s.Spagetti and Lasagne followed that and lot`s more wine and beer.
Declan brought up the overhead projector and a ski game which turned our playroom into the slopes of Bormio.great fun was had by this,even the older people staying late to watch the antic`s.
All in all it turned out to be a great night in Garrlough, as usual, even the kid`s enjoyed it.our next plan is for May when Aaron`s Confirmation takes place.his aunty Anne will be home from SF so maybe a party or two.....will take place.
